The Pawz Hero Award

Natural Pawz Nominates Houston Firefighter with Pawz Hero Award

Houston, TX (January 30, 2014) – Natural Pawz is proud to honor Eric Ruple of Station 51 of the Houston Fire Department with a PAWZ HERO award for rescuing a dog at a recent home fire.

On January 6, Ruple and the crew from station 51 were called to a house fire on Bellaire Blvd. The flames were fueled by high winds, making it difficult for firefighters to put out. Trapped in the fire was the family dog. Ruple was able to rescue the family’s dog. He got a bite on the hand from the scared pup, but both Ruple and the dog are okay.

Everyday firefighters put their lives on the line to keep our families safe, including our precious four-legged family members. To honor Houston’s bravest, Natural Pawz has created the “Pawz Hero Award” for firefighters who go above and beyond the call of duty to rescue animals in need.

Ruple and future recipients will be given a certificate of honor and a basket of toys and treats for their own pet to enjoy.

“The Houston Fire Department saves lives every day” noted co-owner Biff Picone. “We want to make sure ALL of their life saving efforts are rewarded; including the four legged kind.”
