It can be challenging to determine the best food for your new family member. There are so many choices available. Whether you get a pet from a breeder or adopt from a shelter, it’s important to ask a couple of questions:
- What has he/she been eating? How much and how often is he/she fed?
- How old is the pet?
- Does the pet have any allergies or skin issues?
- Are there any medical conditions that you should know (past or present)?
A little information can help guide you on what to do next. If your pet has been on a poor diet or you have a multi-pet household, you might want to change the food.
